xmcd is the only freeware cdplayer I found that would compile.

thereis a good one in /usr/examples/motif/xcd

I am quite certain that the answer to this question exists in the list's
archives. Do check them as they will contain many alternatives and the
places to get them from.
Myself, I use xmcd. I used to use the plain xcd that is available as
freeware from DEC, but xmcd is programmable and has more features.
