-- Hi Richard, In Dec UNIX 3.2C rpty's were taken out of the static kernel parmaters and put into sysconfig, so that you don't have to rebuild the kernel each time you increase rpty's. This important piece of information is buried somewhere in the release notes, but you'll have to look hard to find it! You should create the following entry in /etc/sysconfigtab. Tabs instead of spaces are important as this is a stanza compliant file: pts: nptys=1500 Please note that the entry is nptys and not rptys. You should remove the rpty entry from your config file before your next kernel rebuild. Hope this helps, Michael Long. Karmax Heavy Stamping -- Thank you Michael, and to Henk who just mailed. works purrfectly now. Nice of Digital to make that obvious in their release notes!!! :) - happy richard -- Richard A.
