vdump: unable to get info for file

While vdumping an advfs filesystem, I get the following error:

Not enough space
vdump: Dumping 3795580956 bytes, 1776 directories, 45995 files
vdump: Dumping regular files

The "filename" is different each time I run this command.
I'm using Digital UNIX 3.0 with the advfs patch.
