Hi,
Last week I sent in a problem with PPP 2.1.2 only allowing 2 concurrent
users under DU 3.2.
The first thing we did is pull down and install PPP 2.2 for DU which I
believe is the current version. This did not resolve the problem.
I received two responses, one stating that rumor is PPP is supported
under DU 4.0 so that might be a solution. The second suggested changing the
line in sys/conf/<SYSNAME> from:
pseudo-device ppp 2
as detailed in the README.osf directions for installing PPP under DU.
To:
pseudo-device ppp XX (where XX = number of concurrent sessions
to be supported)
This appeared to work as after changing XX to 8, rebuilding the kernel and
booting, I was able to run PPP from 3 concurrent sessions but the system
crashed within 3 minutes of booting the new kernel with the following error:
"panic - unaligned kernel access from kernel mode"
Attempts to set XX to 16 resulted in a kernel that crashed before
completing the boot process.
Anyone have any ideas? Is there possibly another parameter that needs to
be increased also? Any help will be very much appreciated.
Thanks to:

Winfried Huber <win_at_tukan.ffb.eunet.de>
for your responses so far.
Thanks in advance for any new help on this problem.
