Suggestions were as follows:
o DU programmers guide in conjunction with the assembly language programmers
guide. Overview of the UNIX loader system, exception handling by reading an
O'Reilly
publication and by pulling the guts out of a linux system and its associated
documentation.
o Digital Manual called "Kernel Debugging"
o A book by Chris Drake and Kimberley Brown "Panic! : UNIX System Crash Dump
Analysis" published by Prentice Hall, July 1995, ISBN - 0131493868. From the
comments I received this is a "Sun" view of the world.
I have yet to look into any of these as yet, but it certainly has pointed me in
the right
directions. Once again, thanks to those who replied and commented.
