We have a 3000/300 which is crashing often. Its running DU
3.0B. The guy who uses it runs a lot of code which eats up swap
space. After he complained of always running out of space
(which /var/adm/messages attest to) I put the swap into
over-commitment mode. This was about thre or four months
ago, and the user has been reporting frequent crashes of the system
since then. Sometimes he claims a crash can occur simply when several
decterm and notepad windows are brought up on the desktop. Yesterday
he reported a crash which occurred when he double clicked on an icon
on the desktop.
Is 3.0B buggy regarding swap modes or could this be another problem?
Any hints gratefully received, will summarize etc etc.
