I just installed an Alphastation 500/333 system which includes a
PBXGB-CA video adapter and VRT17 17" color display. The preinstalled UNIX
kernel configured itself and installed all of the Open3D packages that I
expected it should for an X display. However, once the X server and xdm
start on the console, there appears to be a sync rate problem between the
video adapter and monitor. I can make out the shapes of the Xlogin banner
and Digital logo, but the horizontal lines through the display makes most
of it unreadable. The video adapter and monitor play well together in
text mode. Is there any specific setting for either the monitor or
adapter that I need to have for a proper X display?
