If the disk is SCSI-2 compliant and well behaved Digital
UNIX can get the information it needs from the disk when
you label with it with disklabel. It may not get the correct
rotational speed, but few things use it and the label is
easily edited. Once labeled, you can repartition as you
see fit and newfs will use the information in the label.
The disk I bought is really SCSI-2 compliant, but unfortunately
my SCSI board is simple SCSI, not SCSI-2 ( I think ). So I can
not try the above suggestion in SCSI-2 environment.
