Unable to open DEC Term

Hi,

I am on a DEC Alphastation and I just installed a program (ARC/INFO) in my /usr
directory. Afterwards I did a shutdown. Now when I logon, I am unable to open
a DEC Term. The error message in Console is "Can't open PTY" DEC Term.

Any suggestions as to how I might get this back?
