My original question was:
Dear managers,
I'm backing up some information in a tape and I want to
append more information in that( different not modified information)
I'm using the rdump command, caI append more information to the
existing data to the same tape? All ideas are welcome, I'll summarize.
Thanks in advance.
Answer:
Every answer that I received talked about to use a
non-rewinding tape device usually /dev/nrmt0h but first use mt _DEVICE_
fsf to skip the existing files to add a new file.
# mt -f /dev/rmt0h rew
# rdump 0uf remote_host:/dev/nrmt0h /file_system1_path
# rdump 0uf remote_host:/dev/nrmt0h /file_system2_path
# mt -f /dev/rmt0h rew
Thanks again. Regards,
Rosy
