Going from V2.0 to V4.0

  What seems to be the most frightening summer project I have is to take a
machine from V2.0 to V4.0. I know I can only go to 4 from 3.2c or higher,
my main question is, is this as daunting a task as it seems? Will I run
into recompilation issues? Any input/advice would be great.
