We have an alpha 1000 4/233 internet server and are adding 64mb memory
next week. This is our first mem upgrade and because we are an ISP wish
to limit downtime as much as possible.
I have been told that the recognition of the extra mem is automatic at
switch on. Is this correct? Is there anything that needs tuning in the
kernel or elsewhere. What about swapspace? I shudder at the thought of
trying to increase that, but it is currently 158mb which would be way out
for 128mb mem I think. But how would you repartition under nfs with a
system which is 'always up'?
Any pointers b4 next week would be very welcome.
