I have several Sony SMO-F531 optical drives which had been working
fine under previous versions of Digital UNIX (most recently, v3.2C)
with the CLCOP300 subset installed.
I just upgraded one of the machines to dUNIX v4.0 and find that the
optical is no longer accessible. It is recognized at system startup
and the devices (op6..., rop6...) are built, but I cannot mount the
optical or display system information using scu. Within scu,
I can "see" the device with a command like "show device bus x lun x target x".
I thought that this DDR business meant that all SCSI-2 compatible drives
would be recognized by the system. Is there anything else that I need
to do to get these optical drives working under v4.0? Is there an
analog to CLCOP300 coming on the next layered products CD?
Thanks for any assistance.
