I'm running OSF/1 V3.0B on DEC AXP 2000/300 and have some problems,
questions and so on. I've read a lot of
very good answers here, so I hope, one of you will really help me. Please
contact me on my E-mail because I'm not a member of this group.
(Sorry for my english.) So here are the questions:
1*) Where can I find the PATCH for the "w" command? I know, it was
discussed here, but I still can't find the right patch for it.
2*) I would like to disable my console for all users, and enable it just for
some privileged users. I've edited the file "devassign", but it don't help,
when I'm using X. I've edited file GiveConsole, but it also don't help. So
now I've edited file Xsession, so it runs only when the user is one of the
requested. But it's very very bad way to do this. Do somebody know, how
could I lock accsess to console (Yes, I have the keys, but .... :-))) ).
3*) My lpd alwas writes to console message like:
"lp0 out of paper"
Printer is turned off and queuing is disabled, so there are no requests to
printer, but it always tells this message. What can I do with this except to
kill the printer daemon? :-)))
4*) Are there some non-Xterminal ways to change auth files for users? I meen
if I can unlock/lock user other way then using XIsso. I'm using enhanced
security.
5*) How can I clean the "wtmp" file? Is there some utility?
