Using a > 9600 bauds modem with DU ?

Can I use a 14400 modem as a slip interface to Digital Unix ?

I want to be able to connect to my server from home. What is the best
(flexible) way ? PPP or a simple dial-in access ?

If I use any of these, can I use a speed higher than 9600 bauds ?
