Using Multiple Tape Drives With NSR Backup

Hi,
We have a Digital AlphaServer 2100 4/233 (running on Digital UNIX v3.2c)
with two 4mm DAT tape drives (one internal and one external). We have
installed Networker Save & Restore version 3.1a. Previously only the
internal tape drive was configured to perform the daily backup using NSR.
Now our data has grown and one tape is insufficient to backup data for the
daily backup. We have to enter a second tape every morning to continue the
previous nights backup. We have tried to configure the second tape drive to
be used with the NSR backup but it does not continue to the second tape
drive after the tape in the first drive is full.
We have tried to get help from our local Digital Support Service, but their
answer is that NSR does not have the capability to continue to the next tape
drive when the first drive gets full. Their solution is get an autoloader.
We would be very grateful if anyone could share solutions to this similar
problem or any other alternate solution to get NSR to use two tape drives to
perform backup. Any comments should be much appreciated.
