While upgrading from Digital Unix 3.2c to 4.0 on a 2100 server, the whole
bunch of setld launched by the upgrade script give following error message :
getproplist: no such file or directory
This seems to be indicated for each file while is checked (or installed ?).
This is the first time I see these messages, they did not appear in the
other 3.2c -> 4.0 upgrades I've done on different systems.
So I guess that somehow my the files in / and /usr lost they properties.
We are doing our backup with the Digital OEM Networker product (the backup
server is the machine generating those messages), and both / and /usr had
been restored from the Networker backups after a disk crash.
Could it be that Networker does not preserve the file properties ? The
Networker version used at that time was 3.1. If the diagnostic is correct,
does Networker 3.2A now preserve file properties or does it still have the
same problem ?
As a final note, this did note prevent the upgrade to complete correctly.
