DU 3.2c: "ps: unknown variable in format: group" ?

One of my users (on a DU 3.2c machine) reports:

        According to the man page, I should be able to do the
        following:

                ps -e -o pid,user,group

        Unfortunately, I get the following error:

                ps: unknown variable in format: group

        I can get rgroup, rgid, and svgid, so most of the information is
        available; ps just seems to be missing something.

Any ideas?
