We noted that a recent doubling of memory without adding swap space had
been unsuccessful and asked how disklabel and newfs are used to obtain a
1gb swap space and the rest of the disk as a second partition on a new
Quantum Atlas 4.2gb.
Thanks to Bruce Whittaker, Martyn Brown, Alan_at_nabeth.. and Alan Oborne
for their replies.
a) Use disklabel to get characteristics
b) Use disklabel -e to edit these characteristics to what you require
c) Do not, under any circumstances, put the swap space as the first
partition because swapping will overwrite the partition information.
