Subject: mounting cd's without getting the file version number on the end of it!

I'm running 3.2b on a DEC 2100Server.

When I mount any non-ufs cd DU appends ;1 to all of the filenames and the files cannot be referenced without the ;1. Is their any way around this?(without using soft-links)
