I have noticed some questions about system solutions being posted
involving growing Unix servers and such. A slight variation on
that theme.... I would like your opinion on which of the following
network operating system solutions is the best. Our dependance on
Unix has increased as well, but the changes are a little bigger and
I am being prodded for information about them that I just don't know.
1) Unix (of course!) Windows95 and Novell4.0
So we upgrade novell and windows for all.
2) Unix (Yup :]!!) NT4.0 and Workstation (with maybe a couple of 95
clients).
Both of these will be using Unix as mailhosts (POP) and Samba.
I don't believe there is anyone elses opinion more valuable than
yours as we are not biased. If someone wanted to change from Unix...
well you see what I mean...
I want the university to go to NT. Maybe because it's new, but it seems
to be in Unix's pocket which is good...
I will be posting a report summary, for all... hopefully it will be of
use to you if you get put in the same situation...
Thanks for reading..
Steve..
