Many thanks to:
Farul Ghazali
Tracy Horstman
Matthias Dolder
Ohad Imer
Fracois Arca-Sedda
Etienne Baeumle
Keith McCabe
The summary:
- Farul is running 10.02 on DU 3.2B
- Tracy is running Sybase SQL Server 11 on DU 3.2.?, and it works just
great. Moreover, Sybase 11 is expected to be certified in a couple of
weeks for DU 4.0
- Matthias speaks about a benchmark, which recorded the highest ever
reported performance of a database running on a single node UNIX System,
it ran on DU 3.2G and Sybase 11.0.3, so for sure there must be a Sybase
11 variant supported on DU 3.2F
- Ohad says that you can run Sybase 11 although v.10 also works (V11 can
use up to 16 KB I/Os on full table scan, where V10 only uses 2K blocks,
also, Sybase does not do read ahead yet, but is expected to be supported
on next version 11.?.?)
- Francois says that we can use any kind of Sybase, from 4.9 to 11, and
adds that with v11 we can use LSM as Sybase raw devices. So, i should
understand that the previous versions does't support LSM raw devices,
which is not so good for me.
- Etienne is running v10.0.2/P with EBF4882 (Rollup) on DEC AXP 3000-900
(DU 3.2.?), and says that is very stable (0 problems).
- Keith is running Sybase 11 on 4100 v3.2F.
I appreciate greatly your help.
Regards
