Changing passwords from EUDORA??

Help..

We are creating student accounts and encouraging students to use Eudora
to access their mail. How can we enable students to change their
passwords from Eudora??????
The error message generated is 'could not connect to "infosys7"
Cause connection refused [10061]'
NOte:: checking mail works well.

We are running pop3d and smtp (sendmail -bd -q15m -om)

PS.
We're running Eudora (Windows 1.4.2) and OSF 3.0
