The consensus answer is yes, one must go to 3.2C first, then 3.2G!
Thanks to all who replied to the original post which was:
"Hello,
Can one upgrade directly from 3.2 to 3.2G or must one go to 3.2C then
upgrade from there?
Thanks in advance for the help."

You must visit 3.2C when traveling from 3.2 to 3.2G. 3.2G is a maint. release
for 3.2C.
