Hello,
I am running a DEC Unix 3.2C system which is running with NIS and C2
security. I am not quite sure how this setup checks the security
subsystem, because if you are running C2 without NIS, the authentification
files are in /tcb/files/auth/*.
However, under NIS + C2, you are supposed to create a file which contains
all of the tcb information for all users: /var/yp/src/prpasswd.
I am now trying to add, modify, remove users, etc. and this is
becoming quite a pain in the neck, since utilities like adduser
and removeuser cannot be used in an NIS environment, and XIsso and
XSysAdmin don't seem to like my NIS setup.
Does anybody have any familiarity with running NIS in a C2 environment?
Do the security calls such as getprpwent() and setprpwent() correctly
write to /var/yp/src/prpasswd?
Thanks.
