This message may help some of you. Sorry for those who already know...
I never really understand what layered products are included in NAS
packages (NAS Client 150, NAS Client 250, NAS Base Server 200 or NAS
Server 300). Yesterday, I've finaly found the answer.
Depending on what NAS license have (NET-APP-SUP-150, NET-APP-SUP-200,
NET-APP-SUP-250 or NET-APP-SUP-300), here are the layered products
you're authorized to run:
NAS-150:
--------
ObjectBroker for Digital UNIX - Runtime (lmf name ACAS-RT)
DCE for Digital UNIX (Runtime) (lmf name DCE-RT-SVC)
DEC MessageQ for Digital UNIX (RunTime) (lmf name DMQ-RTO)
NAS-200:
--------
POLYCENTER Advanced File System (lmf name ADVFS-UTILITIES)
NetWorker server extention (lmf name DECNSR-NET-SVR)
Logical Storage Manager (lmf name LSM-OA)
Digital UNIX SERVER EXTENSION (lmf name OSF-SVR)
+ all NAS-150 licenses
NAS-250:
--------
POLYCENTER Advanced File System (lmf name ADVFS-UTILITIES)
DECNET/OSI for Digital UNIX (End System) (lmf name DECNET-OSI-END)
POLYCENTER Scheduler Agent DEC OSF/1 AXP (lmf name DECSCHEDULER-EXEC)
+ all NAS-150 licenses
NAS-300:
--------
DECnet/OSI for Digital UNIX (Extended Function) (lmf name
DECNET-OSI-EXT)
POLYCENTER Scheduler Agent DEC OSF/1 AXP (lmf name DECSCHEDULER-EXEC)
+ all NAS-200 licenses
Happy with this and a quite bit naive, my first idea was to think that
having load NET-APP-SUP-x license will automaticaly grant access to the
NAS-x layered products :-) It's wrong !!!
In fact, LMF check for NAS-x products isn't done on NET-APP-SUP-x
licenses but still on specific product licenses.
To have them loaded on my license database, I had to install the
NASBASE710 package (setld -l /cdrom/n15710/kit for NAS-150) and to run
/bin/nasinstall. This clever script loaded NAS-x's layered product
specific license on my lmf database.
More complicated is still possible but DEC's engineer will have to work
hard on it...
