Hello
We have got un Alphaserver 1000A with Digital Unix 4.0
We also have got 3 printers HP Laserjet 4 SI/MX, each with 2 network cards
supporting TCP/IP : 1 Netjet and 1 EMulex
The second was the only one we used until now because the printers were
queued on a VAX/VMS server and we used the LAT Transport
We would like now to queue these printers on our Unix server, using one of
these cards, and TCP/IP.
But all the tests we have made have been unsuccessfull : nothing is printed.
On each printer, each card has its own IP number and is reachable by a ping.
There configurations are loaded by bootp (with the help of the /etc/bootptab
file)
It is certainly a problem about the definition of the printer in the file
/etc/printcap but we have tried several configurations and noone works.
If somebody has a similar printer with one of these cards, could he send me
a copy of his file /etc/printcap
Thanks
