Ok. Can someone take a moment and please educate me because my head is
spinning. I have a new Alpha (note that I'm a long time VMS person and
finally feel like I am just now understanding Ultrix) and I'm trying to put
the pieces of a puzzle together. My Alpha came with NAS 200 which provides
for the extended functionality of LSM & AdvFS. I also bought DEC's EISA
Raid controller and plan on doing Raid 0+1. I want to be able to create
adjustable volumes that span the Raid drive sets that i'll be creating.

Instead of telling you what I think I know, I'd like some input on what the
primary independent functions of LSM and AdvFS are, where they overlap
functionally, how they can work together, and which scenario best from a
performance, reliability and admin. perspective.

TIA

Barry.
