VET memory test fail

Greetings,

On an Alpha 2100 running DU3.2D, the vet memory test reports the following
failure. The machine has 512MB RAM and ~2GB swap. This is from vet's run
window:

*** FATAL ERROR 1 from process 1, group exer for device memory ***
File vet_exer_memory, test 1, subtest 1 - Wed Sep 4 14:57:49 1996
Insufficient memory.
Can't allocate 10973 byte segment.
*** End of error report from process 1 ***

...completed [process 1] group exer for device memory.

...testing completed.

Total errors reported by all processes = 1.
DEC VET: Failed. Total errors = 1. Total process hangs = 0.

Where should I look from here? Does the failure indicate a problem with a
memory module, or maybe something wrong with one of the swap partitions?

BTW, the system had no other users on it at the time I ran the vet. Also,
the same error occurred when it was running with DEC's
/etc/sysconfigtab.lite and with our customized /etc/sysconfigtab.

Regards,

Patrick O'Brien
