Lock Files

I am using the /var/spool/locks directory and I have created a
sub-directory within that directory. Whenever the system reboots, the
directory that I created is removed and I need to recreate it manually.
Any ideas on getting Unix to leave this directory alone?? I am running
Digital Unix v3.2.
