SUMM: Sharing oracle index and data on a raidset or a stripped mirrorset

Thanks to all who replied.

I could not obtain firm advice about the pros and cons of such a setup. Some
of you told me that it would not incure a severe performance penalty and
others tools me to keep the indexes and data separate anyway.

After checking the ORACLE-L mailing list for simillar posting, I realized
that you have to _test_ such a setup before deciding if you should proceed.
It depends on the nature of the transactions on the database.

I'm affraid my summary will leave some of you guessing....
