ADVFS equivalent to fsck, another question from someone else

The question posted this morning raised a doubt in my mind:

When I started my brand new ADVFS factory installed AlphaServer 2100, I
noticed a lot of errors concerning fsck upon bootup. I posted a question
here and you replied that I had to remove the fsck calls in my startup
scripts because it was incompatible with advfs (I received messages telling
me "function not supported").

Now, I'm wondering which process is in charge of verifying that the
filesets/filedomains are OK upon bootup ?
