Its been a long story but my fundamental problem was that I could not
rebuild a RAID set with our normal high I/O load on a KZPSA 3 channel
controller.
Thanks to Dave Golden <golden_at_falcon.invincible.com> for pointing out
that there was an O/S patch for exactly this problem.
As I had a call open with DEC I asked for this patch. They still
thought it more likely to be a hardware problem and changed the
controller - which had no effect.
A week later I still had not received the patch from DEC so
looked at upgrading from 3.2C to 3.2G. I found that this included
the relevent patch so upgraded last weekend. This did indeed clear the
problem.
This morning 10 days after requesting the patch later I received the
tape from DEC.
One further question - I still get mail from the monitor program as below
how do I find out what a miscellaneous error is? Nothing appears to be
logged anywhere?
Thanks
Tim.
