Hello Managers,
I have an AlphaServer 2100 running 3.2b and networker V3.1-03/03. I attached
a tz885 to the 2100 and discovered that the tz885 is not on the list of
available drives. I was informed to use the tz87 and the tape loader tz877.
I did that and the drive worked fine but performance was bad.
The first tape held 40 GB exactly and was marked full. The loader did not
load the next tape. When I issue the command 'nsrmm -j -f /dev/nrmt1h' the
tape loader ejects the volume and loads the next one just fine.
Any Suggestions ?
I then turned off compression in networker and let the tape drive do the
compression. The performance increased dramatically, from 3 GB/hour to 6.5
GB/hour.
But the next tape has not reached full status and is stuck at 100 % holding
83 GB.
Any Suggestions ?
