Original quaetion:

You've seen it. You love it. Please, please, some kind soul help me
troubleshoot this one. I have three systems. Two Dec Alpha's
running Dec Unix 3.2d and one Sparc 20 running Solaris 2.5. One of the
Alpha's an NFS server. The other Alpha is a client. The Sparc 20 is
also an NFS client. Whenever the Alpha NFS client generates alot of
NFS traffic to the Alpha NFS server the Sparc 20 NFS client hangs
with the old "NFS server not responding". This is not good. And, BTW,
the Sparc 20 needs to be mounted hard. It needs the data from that
NFS filesystem or it is not worth anything as a system anyway.

Is there an incompatability between NFS V3.0 on a DEC and on a Sun?
Should I adjust NFS timeout's? Why would this happen?

Thanks in advance.

Answer:

We upgraded to Solaris 2.5.1 on all Solaris 2.5 systems and the
problem has disappeared.
