Hello Alpha Czars,
Is there any way to control the "stickyness" for lack of a better word, of the
cut and paste feature of X under DU 4.0?
I notice that I can highlight (cut) a word, and then (for example) vi a file
and when I try to paste that word, the buffer is empty. It seems like the selected
text *must* be active and highlighted.
I have also seen, though not every time, cases where I highlight text on one
window, and when I select a different window, the selected text in the first
window becomes un-selected, so I cannot use paste in the new one.
I'm not an X-pert, so I don't know what the spec says, but I know that I did stuff
like this on other window managers with no problems.
Can anyone shed any light on why these things changed, and if they are user
configurable in any way?
Thanks.
