Hello!
I'm new to this list and I got a question. I've been managing an Alpha 200
server with OSF/1 3.2 for the last year (this is my first experience as a
UNIX system manager). A few days ago, a user came out with this
requirement: We have a private line to one of our suppliers, which can be
used to carry voice and data (currently we have voice only). We want to
connect the supplier to us so we can log in to their system and they can
log into ours. We have no more ports available in our router, so we
thought about connecting them through slip. But I've never used slip on a
unix system, and besides this must work like a router to their system,
and I need to know what steps should I follow to connect to them. I've
read the manual and learned about the slattach command, and I know I must
also use ifconfig, but that's the most I could learn from the manual. Has
anyone did anything like this before? Can you help me? Thanks!
