I'm having immense difficulties gettings MMS to run on a bunch of
AlphaStation 255/233's, under DU4.0. The same machines worked fine under
DU3.2D-1 (factory install), with an earlier version of MMS, I gather. I've
gotten them to the stage where they now recognise they have a "msb" device
in the box, but I can't get any of the MME apps to produce any sound!
> lmf list | grep MMS
MMS-RT active unlimited
> uerf -R | <bobbited>
Digital UNIX V4.0 (Rev. 386) BL12

> ps agx | grep mme
546 ?? | 0:00.17 /usr/bin/mmeserver -config /var/mme/system.ini
> /usr/bin/mme/audiodevices
<error> No audio devices found
> ls -l /dev/msb0
crw-rw-rw- 1 root system 36, 0 Oct 14 22:42 /dev/msb0
After looking through the MMEDRVMS201.scp install script, I'm a little
confused as to what DU4.0 needs in order to get audio going? Do I need the
/dev/msb0, do I need the "controller msb0" line in my kernel config? Or
should it just lod the msb.mod module when needed from the .product.list?
Help!
Anyway - have other ppl gotten audio working under DU4.0 on AlphaStation
255's or is it just me?
Thanks
