The question was how to use tcp_wrap with pop.
The consensus (written this way?) was to get qualcomm's qpopper.
I got qpopper 2.2 but i really don't like to use cleartext passwords, nor
users in /etc/passwd (since they are PPP only, i'm an ISP), nor APOP (not
too different from cleartext passwords, just does a XOR FF of it a.k.a.
NEG). I would love to use the same old but more secure POP users file with
it's DES encryption. Maybe i misunderstood something around? Maybe i can
use and alternate passwd file?
I'll probably make a qpopper patch (extension to be specific) to work with
the POP file and DES or just modify APOP to use DES instead of it's XORing.
I prefer the first option: it's harder to make, but i'll avoid to modify
all the other user-creation routines... That's if the two questions made
have NO as their answer :-) Greets,
Gustavo
