Could someone awake at this global hour please provide some assistance.
We have a production system which after a PANIC: Kernel memory error
has revived without the printing cability
Essentially investigations have led to the conclusion that the lpd
daemon is failing to create the /dev/printer socket.
The entry exists in the /etc/services file.
I have copied the lpd.exe from a twin system (No joy)
I have reinstalled both the OSFPRINT320 and OSFCLINET320 sets from the
distribution CD without any success
I have checked the permissions and to the best of my ability they appear
to be OK.
I am I missing something fundamental here is this one of those unix
unfriendly things that everyone knows about but doesn't like to discuss
in mixed company?
Please, any help would be GREAT!!!
