Hey guys and gals!
I am trying to print to a print server which has an IP address. I have
followed some of the discussions here the past month or two, which I saved
as well but am still having a little difficulty. Let me see if I
understand the process correctly. First I am running DU 3.2D on a Alpha
1000. I can telnet to the print server using telnet ip address or telnet
print server name, just fine. So all the Domain Name Service and
everything looks good. I dont get any errors, the queue just never
delivers the file to the printer. I imagine it is something with the
printcap file. If I understand right, the printer name needs to go in the
rm entry in the printcap and then in the /etc/hosts you need an entry
which ties the printer name to an IP address. I have that. Ill include
the printcap file below. Does anyone have this working who would be
willing to e-mail me your printcap file so I can compare it to mine? If
so that would be really great. Thanks for any help....
