Hello dear managers,
I installed Polycenter Scheduler a couple of months ago. It works fine
except for some minor bugs. This product requires the DCE 1.30 runtime
support to use the rpcd daemon. I know NOTHING about DCE and I don't ahve
the manuals. I installed the subset as specified and ran dcesetup to
configure the product.
I had trouble installing it, the only way I could have it finish the setup was:
1) Configure as DCE client (The only option available to me without a PAK)
At the "enter your hostname prompt", I specified my hostname
At the "enter the name of you DCE cell", I specified anything
At the "What is the hostname of the master CDS server for this cell" prompt
I had to answer "my hostname". I cannot have a MASTER CDS server because I
don't have the PAK to create one !
With this setup (server = myhost, I get some kind of warning and the rpcd
daemon starts) but I have the following annoying message when I start
Polycenter scheduler:
Checking configuration
fgrep: Cannot open /opt/dcelocal/dce_services.db
Starting DCE Services
Starting RPC demon (rpcd)...
DCE services started
I would like to get rid of the fgrep() message. In fact, all I need is to
have the rpcd daemon running. Polycenter scheduler uses the command
"dcesetup start" to start the rpcd daemon.
