Hi all,
Unfortunately I do not have any hardware manuals for this machine and as
yet haven't seen the insides of it either, so please bear with me.
I have just received 2x2GB Fast wide SCSI disks for our DEC 3000.
On the back of our machine is a 50-pin Centronix cable. The connectors on
the disks have 68 pins. It would appear to me that I am gaining nothing
from this new disk as the bus connected to the centronix port is only
SCSI-1 - I'm guessing here.
However the console on the 3000 shows me that there are two buses (A & B).
It is my understanding that the 3000 comes with one fast wide scsi bus
yes/no ??
Can I attach this new disk to the internal bus(A) or do I just have to buy a
50->68 pin scsi cable and use the centronix port ??
Make sense ??
