Using CDE to manage another workstation

I have a DU 4.0 machine, and a Linux machine. I would like to use the
dtlogin on the Alpha to control the Linux machine. I am using the command
       X -query alpha.machine.name
to do that. However I am running into the following 3 problems:
1. I would like to have the dtlogin to display the server's machine name.
Basically on the Alpha login display Welcome to alpha-machine-name, and on
the Linux box display Welcome to linux-machine-name. The only 2 options
that described in the manual couldn't do that. When I used %LocalHost% in
the Xresources, I got Welcome to alpha-machine-name on both machines. And
when I changed it to %DisplayName%, I got Welcome to :0 on the Alpha, and
linux-machine-name:0 on the Linux.
2. How can I remap the backspace key on the Linux machine on a system
level?
3. Can I still have access to xhost on the Linux machine? We have some
software here that the user need to su another account to run. And
Xauthority will not work under this condition.

TIA,
Jay
