SUMMARY: /dev/console output to an X window???

Solution:

1) 'tail -f /usr/adm/messages' (only gets system messages, not ALL console
output)

or

2) kill the running dxconsole (only one can run at a time), then run
'dxconsole' and it will magically appear on your screen.
