Adding Seagate SCSI Drive to AXP/Unix

How do I get a Seagate ST32105n - Cayman drive connected to my Alpha box
and get it to behave properly?

I finally got it connected and managed to get a 2GB filesystem onto the
drive, but under heavy IO the drive generates errors and starts to forget
about things like superblock entries!

I've come across multiple references to cam_data.c and adding non-DEC SCSI
devices here, but it seems as though there are some other details that are
missing about this operation.

Where do I start? What information do I need about the Seagate drive?
