Original question: Whenever I try to open a pty (e.g. with a DECterm) on an
AlphaServer 2100 (3.2D) I get an error "DECterm: Can't open pty!" All ptys
and associate ttys exist in /dev, and it happens even when logged in as
root on the console immediately after a restart.
Well not much to summarize. I got one response from John Schaeffer
<jsch_at_conncoll.edu> saying that they too had a similar problem, but
couldn't find the fix. So, this problem continues to remain an unsolved
mystery. The sure way to fix it would be to reinstall DU, of course.
