Hello,
Well: I got no answers at all to this posting. Apparently because
everybody thinks: This guy should RTFM which I really should have done,
I admit. Sorry. I've solved the problem now but only partially.
In a nutshell: The PS2 mouse problem is still there. I just can't find
any mouse which works on the mouse port. I'll check with my dealer
and have them send me a mouse which works.
In the interim, I got a standard MS compatible serial mouse connected
to COM1 (/dev/tty00) and I've edited /usr/lib/X11/Xserver.conf
to include the MS mouse in the input section. There is already a line
in /usr/lib/X11/Xserver.conf for that which just needs to be commented
out. This works without any problems.
So sorry again for wasting time and bandwidth.
Tom
