Hi, Everybody!
I have an Exabyte 8505XLE tape driver connecting to AlphaStation(OS is
DU 3.2). The guidebook says it can store 10G data in an D8-112 8mm tape
when data are compressed by the driver. I use it by means:
#tar cvf /dev/rmt0h data &
#dump -f /dev/rmt0h data
but only about 5G data can be stored in one tape.
Who can tell me how to utilize the compressing data function of the
tape driver?
Thanks!
