Sorry to send this to the list, but I can't get mail to the original
requester, and maybe someone else wants the answer.
Here's what works on my system.
The original question was "How do I save a non-encrypted version of a file
which has been encrypted using the vi :X feature." Well, it's simple.
use vi -x myfile to edit the file. Enter the proper key when prompted.
Now, use :X to set a new key for the file, only instead of entering a
key, just hit <return> which (apparently) sets the new key to null and
disables encryption. You can then save the file and have a plaintext
version to work with.
